Apprenticeships

  • Apprenticeships are free of charge for the learner (you are actually paid a salary!)
  • There is no upper age restriction to enrol onto an Apprenticeship programme, so long as you are 16+ years old.
  • Working hours are usually between 30-40 hours per week which includes your release to College.
  • There may be a fee for the employer willing to support you, but this depends on a few factors.

Course Overview
This course covers a wide range of knowledge, skills and behaviours to equip you to lead and manage a team successfully. The course content will help you to understand how to motivate individuals to get the best out of your team members. You will also learn how to deal with difficult situations including conflict and underperformance and also how to develop yourself and others. After enrolment, you will receive an induction on the course content, process and procedures and be given a formal introduction to ILM

What Qualifications Or Experience Do I Need?
This qualification is ideal for individuals who have management experience but no formal training and who want to develop their abilities. It also supports practising team leaders seeking to move up to the next level of management and managers who need to lead a team through organisational change or other pressures.

How Long Is The Course?
The course is delivered over 33 weeks (term time only)

What Will I Learn?
You will be required to attend college for three hours a week and there is an option to choose either an evening class or a daytime class. In addition to the 3 hours at college you would be expected to spend some time at home working on the assignments. The amount of time would depend on the module and how quickly you work but we would anticipate between 3 – 7 hours a week. There are 22 modules in the course covering different aspects of leadership and management. How Will I Learn?
College attendance.

How Will I Be Assessed?
All units are assessed via coursework which will be small assignments to assess your knowledge. In order for the Diploma to be achieved, you must pass all 22 units.
