Free Courses

16-18 Students (Age at 31st August)

Apprenticeships

  • Apprenticeships are free of charge for the learner (you are actually paid a salary!)
  • There is no upper age restriction to enrol onto an Apprenticeship programme, so long as you are 16+ years old.
  • Working hours are usually between 30-40 hours per week which includes your release to College.
  • There may be a fee for the employer willing to support you, but this depends on a few factors.

Course Overview
This exciting Level 2 course is designed to provide work-related skills and knowledge in a range of subjects. If you have a lively and inquiring mind, an interest in business and a willingness to explore new ideas this course will help you prepare for employment, an apprenticeship or further study at Level 3. This qualification is ideal for learners who want to develop an understanding of the essential skills required to work successfully in a business environment, and gives them an understanding of business culture and responsibilities. This qualification also allows learners to develop the skills required to solve problems, communicate and work effectively with others, and gives them the opportunity to learn how to manage and improve their own performance in a business environment.

What Will I Learn?
You will study 10 units over 1 year, including: the business environment, marketing, online business, business communication and customer service.

How Will I Learn?
You will learn through a variety of methods including discussions, lectures, IT work, research, visits, guest speakers, practical role plays and presentations.

How Will I Be Assessed?
You will be assessed through the completion of assignments.

Where Could This Course Lead To?
Following the one-year course, you could move onto the Business Diploma Level 3. You may also consider seeking employment or a business apprenticeship. Advice will be given as part of the course.
